Title: Using Resource Manager for Consolidation on Exadata
Abstract:
Database consolidation is a common goal for many Oracle Exadata customers. Through consolidation, you can capitalize on the extreme CPU, I/O, and memory resources in an Oracle Exadata Database Machine. One important aspect of consolidation is performance, since excessive loads or runaway querie! s from one workload can mar the performance and stability of the other workloads and databases. In this presentation, you will learn how to use Resource Manager to control how databases and workloads within databases utilize CPU, I/O, and other resources. For hosted or cloud environments, you will learn how to configure Resource Manager to ensure consistent and predictable performance. This presentation will include best practice tips and show results from recent Resource Manager tests.
